Learning to Spin with a Drop Spindle
Explore the wonderful practice of spinning yarn and discover why Rumpelstiltskin was such a compelling fairy tale for so long, as we turn wool fluff into usable yarn to knit, crochet, or weave. We will talk about yarn-i-tecture, or the various properties of fiber materials most commonly spun, including various wools, silks, cotton, and flax, as well as the evolution and environmental impact of fiber production. All materials will be provided.
